SOUL SURFER

 











 1.       Synopsis

SOUL SURFER is the inspiring true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, Bethany is child of surfer’s couple  who is always be a winner at the term that named  Tom and Cheri. They have two boys and girl. their name is Noah, Timmy, and Bethany. It’s make Bethany became a girl which have a character like the other brother (be a  good surfer). Bethany was born to surf. A natural talent who took to the waves at a young age, she was leading on many competition surfing like national competitions with her best friend Alana. she and her best friend  have grown up with a passion for the sport and enter a competition. Her church youth ministry leader, Sarah Hill, is disappointed when she has to withdraw from a planned missions trip because of the contest girl surfer at MAUI Jim Turtle Bay resort invitational.

At the contest, Bethany and Alana place first and third, respectively, while the second place winner, Malina Birch, proves to be resentful. Bethany invites both girls up on the winner's box with her, but Malina ungraciously refuses. The Rip Curl surf wear company offers to sponsor her and Alana in competition. While  Bethany and Alana  got sponsor from `Rip Curl` therefore she shall get to compact its training schedule in surf. , both girls go surfing with Alana's father Holt and brother Byron. As Bethany dangles her left arm in the water, a tiger shark is swimming just under her surfboard and notices her arm floating in the water. It attacks, ripping off her arm. Holt gets her out of the water and makes a tourniquet out of a surfboard leash to put on her while Byron calls 911 as Cheri is also informed. An ambulance meets them on the way to the hospital. Just before starting Tom's knee surgery, Dr. David Rovinsky is called to the emergency room to treat Bethany. Besides losing her left arm, she also lost 60% of her blood and David calls her survival a miracle. Their family was very sad because Bethany have a big competition is must finished.

After she is back  from  hospital, she feels to be not helpness with one arm. she can't again do little things with every consideration, like wearing clothes, providing breakfast, and other. It’s make Bethany be aware she can’t do surfing. But my best friend and family always give her some inspire. Bethany started to do little training in surfs by her family. begun of has as smooth as would be convenient for she to use until  style surfs would be convenient with one hand.

Bethany dares self to follow arranged surfing championship at its city. It becomes one spectacle which affectionate while see a that flawed is able to follow kejuaran national. Bethany be a famous person, it becomes motifasi to another flawed athletes one is racing and exercises in sporting. Will Bethany win championship as smooth as that? This film really touch heart if you watch it. And also movie which inspiring all people.

3.Social Message from this Movie

1. Know your kids, give them room to grow, that includes room to quit. Continue to encourage them and be prepared for their return. ( like Tom, he is a good father for his kids. Lets the kids to do something their like)

2. When she faces tragedy, do not quiver and fall into the dead silence of sympathy and fear, but embrace the agony with empathy and resilience. Yes, cry with them, face the pain head on, but get them up and remind them of the strength they gave you once. Remember that together,a good friend always take care with him.(like Alana, she is a really good friend)

3. Know that God has a greater plan than my own. Trust my instincts and work out the skills   granted to overcome the odds.  In short, as John Paul the II would say, “Do not be afraid, do not be satisfied with mediocrity”.(like Bathany, although she losed her left arm, she didn’t give up, she exercised for many time until her dream be come true, amazing)

            This story tells about the teen which named Bethany, she comes  from surfer's couple, Tom and Cheri. She was born be a surfer. she always be a leading in many competition with her best friend, Alana.She want be a famous surfer.

The ending this movie is Bethany’s dream be a come true, she win at the competition,and she a international surfer.

5.Expression at the movie

1.i’m sorry,Noah, I forgot the time(it’s mean that bithany ask expression sorry to her brother)

2”what, is not impossible” (it’s mean that expression unbelieve about something happiness because Alana and bhithany have a sponsor)

3.I never love it….( it’s mean that alana’s father didn’t love his dress which is borrow Bethany, he just say that for the condition Bethany be better)

4.I think of you and I pray everytime, how are you…..(it’s mean that Sarah as a teacher use expression worry and take care with Bethany, she is a good teacher)

5.Yes, I want know. Iam hungry…(its mean that her brother want know ,is Bethany can cook alone with one hand..and Bethany can do that)

6. Comment

This movie has many lesson for us, it’s important for the teenager. you must have a dream, and it must get it. this movie can insipires you to do anything that you want to do and be your self, this movie also insipires us how be a good father( Tom), mother( Cheri), brother and friend ( Alana).this movie take in a beautiful place in Hawai Island with amazing beach. Anna Shopia Robb( Bithany) has a powerful act, she can do surfing with one hand and do a thriller act like she act with a dangerous animal, shark. and it’s very same with the original Bethany. Alana , Tom, Cheri, And people do surfing. I hope this movie can be inspirator for teeneger, if you watch this movie , don’t see of the outside like how she wear a clothe but look at what is social message you must have from this movie.
